Thanks, Lavenderbay! It was a happy one.

I'll be sure to get more up, Winterwoman - in fact, more coming in a day or two. Glad you're enjoying it. I find macro photography great fun, too.

Thanks, Goodbear; I think the Canon 100 macro should fit your camera just fine. It's been a great lens so far, and I think spending the little bit extra to get a good-quality Canon lens was worth it. I also like that it can be used for portrait/landscape/larger shots, too.

Thanks, TR. The 60mm would have an advantage in the weight category, the 100mm is a little heavier than my other lenses. But I've been extremely happy with its photos - can chime my voice in with all the other happy owners! You could try getting a Canon 250D close-up lens, though - a little cheaper than buying a whole new lens, especially if you can find one used in good condition. It should give you that extra boost in magnification for little things.

I really enjoyed Tintin as a kid, read every book the library had. I think that's neat.

You did good! I was talked into the 60mm and it just doesn't get the close-ups of the insects. I wish I had gotten the 100mm instead. The 60 is great for flowers and has an artsy blur -- but I love these images you've been able to capture.

Yes, adventures of timtim is a take off on Herve's tintin. Clever girl you are. A lot of folks in other countries say tin instead of tim and since I travel for a living -- it was a good fit.
