It is a nice time of year, Iladro!

Hey, you never know, Ruth. Willows are very hardy plants. Really, the ones down at the station don't have a lot of moisture in the soil itself. The soil is very sandy there, and although the lake is right nearby, I don't know how much moisture that provides to the willows that aren't right next to it. If you're just going to end up composting the dead stalks anyway, you could try planting one before it dies - nothing to lose, right?

Interesting information. I enjoy pussy willows but really know little about them. I cut myself a few stems recently. I would plant one in my yard, but doubt that our sandy soil would provide enough moisture.

I love this time in the gardening year when everything has started growing. These courgette seedlings are growing in the kitchen where I also have small tomato plants on the windows sill. These will move outside to my mini-greenhouse soon but I'm keeping them inside while we are still getting heavy frosts like willow tree
